MDD Consultancy – Information Society Services™  is a company registered in the Kamer van Koophandel Zuid-Limburg (Chamber of Commerce), Maastricht, the Netherlands.

Established in 1991 by its Managing Director, Ms. Myriam Diocaretz, Ph.D., under the name of M. Diocaretz and later Worldwide Rights and Publishing Consultants, the company has been re-defined to reflect the changes into the knowledge-based society.
Its founder and Managing Director is a published author, editor, researcher, manager and specialist in new technology, working in English, French, and Spanish. Her competencies in other languages and her expertise in intercultural communication and future and emerging technology in the 21st century are an added-value to the company.

Originally serving and representing authors and publishers within the domain of copyright, translation, subsidiary rights, public and corporate image relations, in the last five years we have expanded to include a wide range of services related to stakeholder analysis in the publishing chain, digital libraries initiatives, eContent, authoring tools, communication and dissemination,  consultancy for the establishment of EU NGOs, lobbying and networking in Europe.

Our focus is on people, with the human being and citizen as the driver and co-designer of Information and Communication tools and related technology.

  Examples of our services and clients since 1995 include:
  • Sub-contractor for the development of EUD - European Directory for Women and ICT, a Portal funded by the European Commission INFSO & media,  ED W and ICT Contract Nr. 30-CE-0202684/00-63, 02/20/2009-10/19/2010. Usability and design advisor. Stake-holder analysis (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, France). The EUD is a new innovative online portal that will bring together all information on activities and jobs in the EU related to women and the ICT industry. The Directory gathers in one place all news, activities, legislation, statistics and job offers related to women in ICT, to give an overview of what is happening in the field across Europe, and establish web-based collaboration between the different actors with the goal to develop new services. http://www.ictwomendirectory.eu/
  • Website monitoring of the membership registration in the partner section for civil society of The European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 (EYID 2008) - an initiative of the European Commission, DG Culture. 2007-2008.
  • Website content, as well as creation and updating of semantic categories for online book cataloguing for back-lists, series and journals; reader-centred semantic book classification http://www.rodopi.nl  (1995 to the present)
  • Website content to define eCulture and digital culture R&D.  
  • Coordination of cross-sector digitisation projects.
